ADARA AD02AT1-R Router Platform
The ADARA AD02AT1-R Platform is a low-profile 2-slot integrated platform that provides a compact cost-effective solution ideally suited for an array of specialized appliances such as sophisticated security and traffic-handling applications.
The compact 2U, 2-slot ADARA AD02AT1-R Platform eliminates the need for an ATCA switch module, and is replaced by on-board Ethernet switching on purpose-built products such as the ADARA AD02AT1-R dual OCTEON packet -processing module, ATCA-9100 Media Resource Module, and ADARA AD02AT1-R Quad AMC Carrier Module. The ADARA AD02AT1-R includes optional shelf-management capabilities that are hosted on the slot one payload blade, thereby providing additional cost savings and flexibility within the platform. The ADARA AD02AT1-R also supports a 48V DC power feed, with optional AC power in a stand-alone 1U AC power module supporting both central office and datacenter environments. The ultra-low profile of ADARA AD02AT1-R makes it a perfect fit for low-density subscriber-area deployments and specialized applications.
The ADARA AD02AT1-R is designed in accordance with Advanced TCA Standard PICMG 3.0 Rev 2.0, and supports the following features:
- 2-slot ATCA Backplane with 15 x Mesh Fabric Interface, Interconnected Base Interface and bused IPMB Interface, supporting two 8U (280mm -deep) node boards and two 8U (80mm -deep), rear-transition modules
- Mounting brackets for 19" cabinets
- Removable top cover for easy access to top slot for ATCA blade development
- ESD Wrist Strap Terminals at front and rear
- Cooling for 200W per Front Board and 15W per RTM

ADARA AD06AT1-R Router Platform
The ADARA AD06AT1-R is a 5U ATCA shelf with 4 node slots and 2 hub slots. Blades lie horizontally and are cooled by two hot-swappable fan units on either side of the shelf. The fan units work in a push-pull arrangement to draw air across the blades from right to left. The backplane is configured with the 2 hub slots on the bottom and 4 node slots above them. The backplane is a full mesh, supporting dual-star fabric (base and fabric) with dual IPMB buses for management. The SYS-6006 accommodates 6 RTMs (Rear Transition Modules), which are cooled by fans within the PEMs (Power Entry Modules). The two – 48V DC PEMs plug directly into the backplane from the back of the shelf.
The ADARA AD06AT1-R provides a sophisticated thermal solution to meet diverse requirements. With two IPMI hot-swappable managed fan modules controlled by the SM, system noise is kept to a minimum while ensuring that the shelf and blades are cooled sufficiently. RTMs are cooled by managed fans within PEMs, allowing cooling for up to 20W per RTM. Fans run at maximum speed the moment they are not controlled, thus ensuring integrity of the system. Both rear and front fans run in a push-pull arrangement, drawing air across the board from right to left per ATCA specification. Air is filtered by a filter element that can be removed during operation for cleaning or replacement.
The ADARA AD06AT1-R shelf provides ample flexibility to allow initial system deployment with current technologies and in-field upgrades in the future. The backplane supports the full ATCA mesh, a super-set of dual-star base and fabric interfaces, with signal speeds up to 3.125 Gb/s. Thus, an initial deployment may utilize only the base interface and a subsequent upgrade may add modules supporting the fabric interface without the need to change the shelf or backplane.
The backplane includes inter-slot update channels, synchronization clock buses, and metallic test and ringing signals.

ADARA AD14AT1-R Router Platform
The ADARA AD14AT1-R is an industry-first application-ready platform enabling 10-Gigabit Ethernet fabric connectivity. It is a 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GE) platform and integrates multitude of state-of-the-art building blocks such as 10 GE switch and control module, quad-core and dual-core compute module, packet processing, multi-core DSP, storage modules, STM-1/OC-3, PDH and Gigabit line card modules and platform software including data-path software to meet the next-generation performance requirements for target applications. The managed platform is pre-validated with a variety of modules for configuration integrity and enables TEMs to address multiple applications using specific configurations. For example, customers can build a Radio Network Controller (or Base Station Controller) using the 10 Gigabit switching, STM-1/Gigabit Ethernet line cards, and dual core compute modules. Alternatively, they can build a high-performance application or media-server platform with primarily compute and storage modules.
The ADARA AD14AT1-R is ideal for 3G-wireless and wire-line infrastructure next-generation infrastructure elements that must address significant capacity increase while decreasing cost. Ten-fold throughput increase and five-fold compute performance increase are typical requirements for next generation equipment. Further, Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) are trying to cope with the challenge of time-to-market with reduced staffing and budgets.
The ADARA AD14AT1-R is a fully integrated and validated managed platform. With a 10 Gigabit Ethernet switch and control module, the ADARA AD14AT1-R offers the highest bandwidth node connectivity, up-link and cross-link capabilities, and the highest processing density per slot. Modular AMC-based I/O and packet processing functionality provide a modular scalable platform that allows for flexible expansion of both features and system density.
